Here is a list of the maps we use in our truck for both our iPhone and our tablet. We do not have a stand alone GPS and run everything from our tablet that is mounted to the dash. If you are using a standalone GPS like a Tom Tom or a Garmin, then feel free to start a discussion about what product you use and the pros and cons.

You are responsible for any fines for being on the wrong road. Waze is a great app to keep open on your phone going down the road as it will tell you about any road hazards and police that have been reported ahead, Google maps is great to see the shipper and receiver if you have not been to that location. Make it part of your pre-trip planning.

For accurate weather app the one I use the most is MyRadar. It is free and the most accurate. It will give you weather updates for your current location and let you see forecasts for where you are and going. I can't stress enough the importance of looking ahead for weather conditions for your trip and planning accordingly. I was all of you to be safe out there on the road so knowing what weather you may be running into can keep you from traveling in conditions that are unsafe. I'm going to start a separate topic thread just for weather so I can update road conditions to help you be prepared and make adjustments to your route.
Also for those in Freightliners there is a Freightliner dealership locator app.
So as far as GPS routing apps, Hammer hands down is the best phone app to use, It lets you put in truck dimensions and weight, it will route accordingly.
